Skygate® is an advanced software platform that intelligently connects and optimises the various components of your energy system to maximise self-consumption. Aligned with the energy transition, its smart algorithms and controls increase your PV self-consumption by up to 10%, ensuring devices are activated when electricity prices are low. Additionally, Skygate® enables intelligent charging of your electric vehicle (EV), giving you the flexibility to charge exclusively with solar power or wait until your energy storage is fully charged. This not only reduces your carbon footprint but also reduces energy costs.
Skygate® is a cloud-based software platform that gathers accurate data on your energy production and consumption through a specialised gateway router installed alongside your system. It then uses this data to intelligently manage your energy flows, optimising for self-consumption of your solar-generated electricity and trading electricity with the power grid at most favorable prices. By constantly monitoring current electricity prices, Skygate® adjusts the consumption of your devices in real-time, ensuring you use energy when it's most cost-effective.
With Skygate®, you can tailor your energy management to fit your specific needs at any time. This includes for example setting priorities for individual energy-consuming devices, such as your electric vehicle (EV), or adjusting comfort settings. For instance, you can determine how much driving range your EV should have by the desired departure time, or choose to power certain appliances exclusively with excess self-generated electricity. Skygate® automatically handles the rest, optimising your energy use efficiently.
Our energy manager, Skygate®, connects to your router and the internet via an Ethernet cable. Once connected by one of Upvolt’s engineers, it networks and manages your solar panel system, battery storage, EV charger, and heat pump through their individual local or cloud-based interfaces.
Skygate® automatically updates its system software, and no maintenance is required.
All connections between Skygate® and our cloud are encrypted using the latest safe encryption technology based on Transport Layer Security (TLS).
