Ohm Energy and Deege Solar have officially joined Upvolt, becoming Upvolt Sussex and Upvolt Kent.
For existing customers, the most important thing to know is this: the same teams, the same people, and the same service remain in place. Nothing about your installation, warranty, or ongoing support is changing.
Together, these teams bring over 35 years of regional experience and more than 6,500 successful solar installations across Kent, Sussex, and the wider South East. Now, they are part of something bigger.
What is Upvolt?
Upvolt is a UK-based energy group that brings together trusted regional solar specialists under a shared technology and support network.
It is built to strengthen local expertise, not replace it. Each regional team continues to operate independently while gaining access to wider resources, enhanced systems, and long-term support.
At the centre of this is Skygate®, Upvolt’s smart energy platform. Skygate® allows homeowners to monitor their solar generation, track energy usage, and manage connected systems from a single app, helping maximise savings and performance over time.
What This Means for Existing Customers
If you are an Ohm Energy or Deege Solar customer, everything you rely on remains exactly the same.
- Your warranty is unchanged, with the same terms and coverage as originally agreed
- Your contract remains fully valid and honoured
- Any booked installations will proceed as scheduled
- Existing email addresses will continue to work, with messages automatically forwarded to Upvolt accounts
You will continue working with the same people who installed or support your system today. The difference is that those teams now have additional backing and resources behind them.

Upvolt Sussex (formerly Ohm Energy)
Ohm Energy has built a strong reputation across Sussex over the past 20 years, delivering more than 4,000 installations for homeowners and businesses.
Now operating as Upvolt Sussex, the business continues under the leadership of Jason Lindfield, who remains in his role as Managing Director. As the former Director and Owner of Ohm Energy, Jason continues to lead the team day-to-day, working with the same engineers, designers, and support staff that customers already know.

Deege Solar has served customers across Kent for over 15 years, completing more than 2,500 high-quality installations across the region.
Now part of Upvolt as Upvolt Kent, the business continues to be led by David Norman, who remains in place as Managing Director. As the driving force behind Deege Solar, David continues to oversee operations and maintain the same standards customers expect.

Why has Ohm Energy / Deege Solar changed its name to Upvolt?
Both businesses have officially joined their parent company, Upvolt, to operate as part of a stronger national network. By moving under the Upvolt name, the teams can offer all the benefits of a trusted local installer with the support of a national smart energy network, including faster response times, a wider range of premium products, and access to cutting-edge technology like the Skygate® energy management platform.
Is Ohm Energy / Deege Solar shutting down?
Not at all. The same local teams in Sussex and Kent are still operating exactly as before, just under a new name, with the backing of a national network behind them.
Is this under new ownership?
Yes. Ohm Energy and Deege Solar are now part of the Upvolt Group. What hasn't changed is who runs them: Jason Lindfield continues to lead Upvolt Sussex and David Norman continues to lead Upvolt Kent, in the same roles they held before.
Are my warranties still valid?
Yes. Your warranty remains 100% valid and unchanged, same terms, same coverage. It is now additionally backed by the national resources of Upvolt, giving you greater long-term security for your investment.
Will my contract or agreement change?
No. All existing contracts and service agreements remain fully intact and will be honoured exactly as originally signed. This is a brand transition; it does not affect your legal protections or service terms.
Will I still be dealing with the same local team?
Yes. You will continue working with the same local engineers and advisors who have led thousands of installations across your region. While the logo on their uniforms has changed, the people and the expertise remain the same.
I have an installation booked. Will it still go ahead?
Yes. Your installation will proceed exactly as scheduled with no delays. Your project manager remains your main point of contact, and the local team will carry out the work as planned.
Will emails sent to my old Ohm Energy / Deege Solar contact still reach them?
Yes. All previously held email addresses automatically forward to the new Upvolt accounts, so nothing will be missed during the transition.
What is Skygate®?
Skygate® is Upvolt's proprietary smart energy management platform. It allows homeowners to monitor their solar system, manage connected devices, and optimise energy usage to maximise savings, all from a single app.
Does Upvolt offer products different from those of Ohm Energy or Deege Solar?
The core solar installation service remains the same. Under the Upvolt umbrella, the teams now have access to a wider range of smart home technology solutions, including battery storage and EV charging, all provided end-to-end under one roof.
I'm a new customer. Can I still get a quote for my local area?
Absolutely. Upvolt Sussex and Upvolt Kent remain the primary solar experts for the South East. You can request a free quote directly through the Upvolt website, and your local regional team will handle your consultation and system design.
